900 smallholder producers from the Thirikwa Farmers Cooperative Society have contributed to this lot. Gakuyu-ini is their sole wet mill, located at 1,600 above sea level. Each producer farms less than a hectare of land, but despite being small scale, there is an acute focus on cultivation methods and managing soil fertility. Coffee cherries are also selectively handpicked and sorted before pulping, ensuring only the best quality makes it to the final lot.
