Ritual Coffee is an independent specialty coffee roastery based in Cheltenham. We roast with purpose, source ethically, and support our wholesale partners with the tools, training, and expertise they need to thrive. Role Overview

The Account Trainer is a frontline role within our wholesale team, responsible for ensuring Ritual’s partner cafes are set up for success. You’ll deliver engaging training sessions, both on-site and at the roastery, covering espresso skills, brew methods, milk steaming, latte art, workflow, and customer service.

As the voice of Ritual at partner sites, you’ll build strong relationships, identify opportunities for improvement, and act as a bridge between partners and our wholesale team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured barista training for new and existing wholesale accounts (espresso, filter, latte art, workflow, customer interaction).
  • Support partners with initial setup and ongoing coffee quality checks.
  • Conduct β€œdial-in” and calibration sessions to maintain quality standards across accounts.
  • Develop training materials (handouts, videos, guides) in collaboration with the Head of Coffee.
  • Provide feedback to the wholesale team on partner performance, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Represent Ritual Coffee at events, trade shows, and cuppings.
  • Maintain knowledge of our seasonal coffee range and communicate product stories clearly.
  • Track training activity, partner performance, and produce reports for the management team.

Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience as a professional barista or trainer in specialty coffee.
  • Strong technical knowledge of espresso machines and grinders (La Marzocco, MahlkΓΆnig).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – confident leading both small and large groups.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan and deliver sessions across multiple locations.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
  • Driving licence essential (role involves travel to partner sites).
  • Bonus: AST certification, sensory training experience, or familiarity with SCA modules.
